Luis Gustavo Araujo Rodriguez

Research Associate – Lancaster University

Luis Gustavo Araujo Rodriguez is a Postdoctoral Research Associate on Securing Convergent Ultra- arge Scale Infrastructures at Lancaster University. He conducted his doctoral research at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, under the supervision of Professor Daniel Macêdo Batista. His doctoral research
focused on the development of security test suites for resource-constrained and network-based systems, more specifically IoT message brokers.  Prior to this, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Catholic University of Honduras. He was then awarded a Masters degree in Computer Science from the State University of Maringá in Brazil, under the supervision of Professor Anderson Faustino da Silva.

Before undertaking graduate courses, Luis worked as an technological assistant at CREDIA in Honduras, where he collaborated with international institutions such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and Healthy Reefs Initiative to develop monitoring systems and online databases.  Luis has received awards throughout his career, most notably, being named the valedictorian of the Computer Science graduating class, earning the Magna Cum Laude honor distinction, and receiving the 2nd best paper award in 2018. His research has not only been published in international conference proceedings and prestigious journals such as ISSTA, ISCC, and IEEE Networking Letters, but also provided funding opportunities. His current research interests include, but are not limited to, automated software testing, cybersecurity, and parallel computing.
